Investors’ wealth falls by Rs 2.42 trn

Mumbai: The 0.70 per cent fall on BSE eroded investors’ wealth by Rs2.42 lakh crore on Wednesday. The market capitalisation (mcap) on BSE fell by Rs2.42 lakh crore to Rs3,21,40,820.81 crore (Rs321.40 lakh cr).

The market breadth was negative as 2,322 scrips closed lower, 1,386 stocks advanced, while 135 stocks remained unchanged out of the 3,843 stocks traded on BSE. After a day’s breather, the 30-share BSE Sensex plunged 551.07 points or 0.83 per cent to settle at 65,877.02.
